The Phoenix Catalyst's journey started with firsthand experience of the failure of DEIB programs. Over the years, our founder heard frustrations from both sides and decided to take action.
She first got involved in company Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and worked towards change through them. Then, she created lunch-and-learn modules on inclusivity, led by example, and shared her inclusive leadership practices with others. She successfully advocated for creating a neurodiversity ERG, one of the first of its kind.
After experiencing a corporate layoff, she had free time, skills, and knowledge. She became a catalyst for change and rose from the ashes to solve a growing problem - the perceived failure of DEIB programs.
Our mission is simple: to help organizations cultivate a culture of belonging through inclusive leadership.
Although it may not sound simple, it is. We are not afraid to have difficult conversations and confront hard truths, as growth happens at the edge of the comfort zone.
We aim to help leaders and executives become comfortable with discomfort and show them that they can transform and become catalysts of change.
There comes a time for all of us when we realize that we can no longer hold on to old ways of thinking and being.
Like the Phoenix, we are reborn and go through a profound transformation.
This transformation requires a catalyst to inspire change, prompt growth, and guide us to the next stage.
In different cultures and religions, the Phoenix symbolizes resilience and overcoming challenges. Stories and legends center around this symbol, highlighting transformation, new beginnings, and positivity. They all illustrate Phoenix's capacity to rise again after self-destruction, mirroring the evolution of many modern businesses.
The symbolism of the Phoenix represents the notion that traditional approaches need to be replaced by innovative practices and new ways of thinking.
A catalyst for change is a crucial factor that compels organizations to adopt change. It can originate from both external and internal sources. For instance, external catalysts may include groundbreaking advancements that reshape the business environment.
Catalysts are vital in driving change forward. They instill confidence and assistance to individuals impacted by change, empowering them to embrace new practices and maintain behavioral shifts.
